Position Summary – Class A Truck Driver
The Class A Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of construction materials and heavy equipment to and from job sites throughout Southern California.
This position requires a dependable individual who is capable of operating commercial trucks and trailers while also loading, securing, and unloading equipment such as backhoes, excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
The driver will work closely with field crews and management to ensure deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including truck and trailer combinations used to haul construction materials and equipment.
Transport construction materials such as pipe, aggregates, and other project supplies to job sites as directed.
Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators and loaders.
Ensure all equipment and materials are properly secured using chains, binders, straps, and other approved load securement methods.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and related equipment to ensure safe operation.
Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, and field crews regarding delivery schedules, job site access, and equipment needs.
Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations while maintaining a high level of professionalism when interacting with clients and field personnel.
Assist with basic equipment checks and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience hauling construction materials and heavy equipment is highly desirable.
Ability to safely load and unload heavy equipment using ramps or equipment trailers.
Knowledge of proper load securement procedures, including chaining and binding equipment.
Strong understanding of job site safety practices and DOT compliance requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, dispatch, and management.
Must be dependable, safety-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Experience operating construction equipment is a plus.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
