Van Diest Bros., Inc. completed work at multiple locations on the Fullerton College campus in 2024 and 2025.

We worked with BNB Builders to install wet utilities for the new Chapman Newell Instructional Building and new Maintenance and Operations Building.

The Chapman Newell Instructional Building (CNIB) is a hub for student support services. Prior to building the 18,000-square-foot facility, services such as CalWorks, Student Wellness Center and the Veteran Resource Center were spread throughout the campus. Now, students can go to one centralized location to receive support and assistance.

The new 11,000-square-foot Maintenance and Operations Building (M&O) centralizes campus services such as administrative offices and specialized trade work areas such as maintenance, plumbing and irrigation, HVAC and electrical.

Van Diest Bros, Inc.’s scope on both CNIB and M&O included storm drain, sewer, domestic water and fire water utilities. We installed 2,500 linear feet of pipe and completed offsite utility tie-ins on Lemon Street and Chapman Avenue.

Van Diest Bros. was also contracted by PPC Air Conditioning to install new wet utilities to the relocated campus chiller facility. Our scope included new sewer laterals, a 4-inch domestic water service, and point of connection to a future building.

Tight campus logistics, limited laydown space, and the need to maintain safe student access around the Wilshire Auditorium and adjacent facilities increased the complexity of the work on these projects.

Van Diest Bros., Inc. completed this work with minimal issues, demonstrating our ability to execute challenging campus utility projects efficiently and effectively.
